RaMa LuNa Center for Yoga & Well-being's Response to COVID-19:

Should I Come to Class?

  • Do not come to class if you are feeling under the weather, including, but not limited to flu or COVID-like symptoms.

  • If you register for class and decide that it is best to cancel, please contact Rachel (860-800-LUNA) to ensure that you are not charged any late cancel fees.

  • If you DO cancel with the assumption that you have COVID symptoms, you will be asked to stay away from the studio for at least 14 days or until you have received a negative test result for COVID-19.

We ask that you follow these protocols:

  • Check temperature before you attend. Do not attend yoga with any flu, Covid-19 or sickness symptoms in the past 48 hours.

  •  If you have tested positive for Covid-19, do not attend yoga until you have a negative test.

  • If you have had contact with anyone who has tested positive for Covid-19, please do not attend within the 2 week period afterwards.

  • Attend yoga freshly clean and in clean clothes.

  • Wash hands thoroughly before coming to yoga class.

  • You may bring your own mat and props or borrow ours.  Either way, please disinfect the mat and props BEFORE and AFTER use.

  • The mitigation of the spread of COVID-19 is a collective effort, so we have placed canisters of disinfectant wipes in the bathrooms.  Please wipe down all high-touch surfaces (e.g. faucet handle, toilet handle, door handle and light switch).  Thank you for working with us to keep us all safe.

  • Please wear a mask in the stairwell, shoe-drop reception areas and during your practice (this is an update, as of 11.16.2020).

  • Use hand sanitizer (available in the reception area and in the studio) upon entering and as needed/desired.

  • Maintain at least 6 feet distance between each other at all times.

  • At the end of class, please exit the studio expeditiously so that the teacher may begin the sanitation process.  We encourage community building (it’s one of our 8 Core Values!) but ask that you socialize responsibly in the parking lot, where you can remain 6’ apart and linger as long as you like.

Our procedures:

  • We will thoroughly clean and sanitize all areas with commercial-grade disinfectant in between classes, including the aerial hammocks after each aerial class.

  • Aerial members have an “assigned” hammock that they will store – with the O-rings still attached -- in a pillowcase with their name on it and place in the white cubbies in the prop area.  Pillowcases must never be turned inside out.  Aerial hammocks must be sanitized and allowed to dry for a few minutes before storing in the pillowcases.

  • Teachers and students alike are required to self-assess for any flu, Covid-19 or sickness symptoms. No teacher is permitted to teach with any symptoms.  In the event that a teacher contracts COVID, the RaMa LuNa community will promptly be informed via email.  That teacher may not teach until they have a negative COVID-19 test

  • We have set up tape to guide you to place your mat at least 6 feet away from other students (this pertains to floor yoga only).  For aerial yoga, please place your mat directly under the hammock.  Hammocks are ~8 feet apart already.

  • No physical contact. No hugs, handshakes or physical assists. Air hugs and Namaste are recommended.

  • Teachers will stay on their mats as they teach.   In the event that a teacher must assist a student (this is particularly pertinent for aerial classes), the teacher will place the mask on his/her face before approaching the student.

  • Teachers are encouraged to keep the “barn door” studio door open for greater air ventilation.  They may also opt to open the skylight windows to allow for the same purposes.

  • The family room is temporarily for staff-use only during COVID, with limited exceptions.

  • Most live floor yoga classes will simultaneously be live-streamed; however, students will not be videoed. Some floor classes are online only.  When you register, you will receive a Zoom ID and password via the automated registration confirmation email.  Aerial classes are in-studio only.

  • Make decisions that are best for you and your family. We support you fully in what you need to do. Do not feel rushed; we will be here when you are ready. Make informed choices and know that we stand by you.  To that end, we are temporarily lifting some of our policies re: membership holds and class-pack expirations:

  • Regular members are generally allowed to put their memberships on hold for up to 2 months (consecutive or not) during any calendar year.  We are temporarily waiving that policy during COVID such that any member may put his/her membership on hold until further notice.

  •

  • Clients who have an AERIAL class-pack with unused classes:  We are temporarily waiving the expiration dates on any aerial classes that were unused as of 3.15.20.  Those classes will remain on your account until you are ready to use them.  If you would like to use them but do not see them on your account, please reach out to us (ramalunayoga@gmail.com).

  • Clients who have a FLOOR class-pack with unused classes:  regular expiration dates will remain in effect, as  - and we’re proud to say this – we never missed a single class offering as COVID hit.  Unused classes may be used online and/or in-studio (please check our website for options).

We are Committed to these Precautionary Measures during COVID-19:

  • Classes are limited to 7 students (floor yoga) and 10 students (aerial yoga).

  • Students who arrive late will not be allowed to enter the studio and will not be eligible for a refund.

  • RaMa LuNa will continue our online presence (in-studio floor classes may be streamed, but no students will be visible in the live stream).

  •

  • Classes are scheduled at least 30 minutes apart from one another, allowing time for teachers to sanitize high-touch areas (e.g. door handles, front desk, hammocks (if used), floors, etc.)
